Darling, It Is Time To Sleep

Your tear-stained cheek is resting on my shoulder

As this well-worn chair is rocking us so sweet

Tiny fingers clutching tiny blanket

As your tired eyes are trying not to sleep

And I’ll still love you when sun peaks through your curtains

When the rabbits jump to find their morning feast

And if you wake in darkness, I’ll be there to comfort

So darling it is time to sleep

Cause papa fox needs quiet to find some supper

And mama skunk needs space because she stinks

And the moon will guide you through the sweetest slumber

And they’re waiting for us all to go to sleep

And I’ll still love you when sun peaks through your curtains

When the rabbits jump to find their morning feast

And if you wake in darkness, I’ll be there to comfort

So darling it is time to sleep

The dishes in the sink can party til tomorrow

And the buzzing world can quietly retreat

Cause I’m tired but your tiny heart is beating close to mine

And it’s bringing me the greatest sense of peace

And I’ll still love you when sun peaks through your curtains

When the rabbits jump to find their morning feast

And if you wake in darkness, I’ll be there to comfort

So darling it is time to sleep

Darling it is time to sleep
